Review of Room (2015) by Roxanne R — 02 Mar 2016
NOW I understand WHY this film was nominated for best picture! Perhaps I am naïve but I was trying to figure out why they were in the room to begin with until the 30 minute mark where it is explained.
Have not read the book (no desire to read it) so watching the film suffices. At the one hour mark I was overcome with so many emotions and yes you probably will cry watching ROOM. A boy named Jack (J.
Tremblay) and his ma (Brie Larson who won best actress Oscar for this performance) live in a room and his mother comes with all kinds of creative ways to spend the days. As you watch this film, the layers begin to peel, you will understand what is going on and you will become more cautious in life.
That is all I can reveal without any spoilers! Congratulations to Brie Larson and the story is one that stays with you a long time....
