Review of Romeo Must Die (2000) by Jonathan G — 03 Mar 2009
I kind of liked this movie. People say it's a version of Romeo & Juliet, it's not, you're idiots. It just has the word 'Romeo' in the title. I actually liked the onscreen relationship with Aaliyah and Jet Li.
Obviously the filmmaker knew they weren't a 'believable' couple and treated it as such (no kissing, etc.). Instead they just worked together for a common goal, to figure out what was going on.
There were many unrealistic things about this movie (i.e. cables were used for a lot of the action scenes and what's the deal with the NFL team being part of the plot????).
