Review of Roman Holiday (1953) by Kurt H — 09 Jul 2009
Simply said, this is a great movie. I've seen it at least 5 or 6 times. I never get bored with it. Audrey Hepburn is as delightful and as elegant as a daisy in spring breeze. She uses her body to subtly express what she is feeling and thinking.
Gregory Peck starts off being seedy, but is so charming that you don't mind and actually root for him. Eddie Albert is perfect as the supporting character but he still comes in second in that category in this film.
He just can't compete with Rome. In fact, William Wyler only makes one thing look as beautiful as Rome, and that is Hepburn.
