Review of Rollerball (2002) by Nick T — 22 Aug 2007
In spite of the enticing premise and occasional ultra-violence (which does succeed in providing shock where needed), too many points in the story are only touched upon and never examined, and the direction is indifferent until the final scene.
Caan does the best he could with his role (he himself has stated so as well), but in the end, Rollerball is plodding, and only the most dedicated, patient fans of dystopian films.
