Review of Rocks in My Pockets (2014) by Michael H — 08 Sep 2014
Signe Baumane's animated self-study, is a rather whimsical and nuanced affair. Told through an entrancing mix of stop-motion and 2D animation, Rocks in my Pockets holds the appearance of a children's picture book, yet it never detracts from the film's grave topics.
Certainly not overtly dense or complex in it's musings, but blissfully thoughtful, and one of the best animated offerings of the year.
