Review of RoboCop 2 (1990) by Shaun B — 28 Nov 2012
Widely considered to be a bad follow-up to a reasonably entertaining and fun ROBOCOP, this sequel still has entertainment value galore if you're into the gun porn angle. Because there's a lot of bullets flying and bodies hitting the ground without much thought.
In fact, I suggest you turn off nearly all brain cell activity while watching this movie otherwise you'll be caught up with most others wondering why certain plot points are dropped unceremoniously without mention and how the humor is somewhat misplaced compared to the original's under-the-radar approach.
It didn't matter for me...it's a movie about a cyborg cop versus corporate raiders on top of another bigger, badder cyborg gone wild. The CGI effects were good enough if you grew up in the 1990s as a young kid and will bring back good memories.
Today's audiences may have a more difficult time enjoying this but for whatever reasons those may be for not liking it I will never know b/c shit like CRANK and TOO FAST TOO FURIOUS continue to rake it in.
