Review of RoboCop (1987) by Shaun B — 21 Nov 2012
One of the all time best 1980s action/sci-fi films. Special effects may be slightly cheesy but they were great to see as a kid growing up at that time period. The humor is well placed and geared to the adults along with plenty of gun porn.
A bit repetitive gun porn at times. But it's a film about a half human/half cyborg cop that's nearly indestructible (which makes the overt humor of letting the cliches fly in the action sequences particularly brilliant).
It's a popcorn flick that is busy making sure you know what's up in the (many) satire departments and it manages its job deftly in giving you the entertainment you're looking for.
