Review of RoboCop (1987) by Siegfried M — 22 Mar 2016
Robocop (1987) ???
In the near future, a Detroit policeman is gunned down by thugs, he is then rebuild by a super high-tech corporation as a machine who patrols the city. Eventually he remembers his older life and wants revenge from those who originally killed him. A terrific premise is executed with fully high-tech (and high explosive) action, swift pacing, inspired direction, and completely satisfying denouement. Too bad it's the basis for an ugly, nasty view of the future. The special effects are outstanding, including awesome stop-motion effects.
