Review of Robin Hood (2018) by The3Academysins — 08 Jul 2019
A borderline offensive, unwatchable mess, 2018's Robin Hood is a horrible adaptation that I regret watching. The opening sequence with the hand-holding narration can be construed as insulting. The second sequence portraying the Crusades as the American War in the Middle East IS insulting.
Getting back to England after Robin's attempted and unpunished mutiny isn't much better. The talent of the cast is completely wasted on this hackjob, lazy, cashgrab of a script. The effects are goofy at best and laughably fake at worst.
The story is full of cliches and forced storytelling. The pace of this movie is so stilted I almost fell asleep during a 90 minute movie. Apart from some nice moments from the cast, there is almost nothing redeemable here.
