Review of Robin Hood (2018) by Hy-Dar A — 24 Nov 2018
This is a fantastic action film. There is a consensus that the action scenes are awesome. There were not as many special effects as people think because Taron (Robin Hood) practiced two months with a bow with the fastest speed shooter in the world. The archery is the most historically accurate of any movie of its kind. The acting is top-notch.
Some reviews seem to be saying that it was very politically motivated and against Christians. Although it seems that way at first, you later discover that the villains are attempting to undermine the Catholic Church, so this is certainly not the case.
There also seem to be some complaints that it is not historically accurate, but this is entirely intentional. The only historically accurate part of the film is the archery style. The rest of it was not meant to be historically accurate because it did not want to be a partisan political film. If it had been historically accurate, they would have had to take a stance on the Crusades, Christianity, Islam, etc.
The only minor change that I would make is that I would have liked it to be about 30 minutes longer so that they can add a little more character development, but everything else was excellent.
