Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is bogged down by terrible writing, an unfocused narrative, and a pretty awful performance from Kevin Costner, but it's bolstered by cool fight scenes, an excellent musical score, and a great supporting cast, particularly Alan Rickman, who shines as the Sherriff of Nottingham.
