Review of Robin and Marian (1976) by Joseph D — 08 Feb 2008
Very strange in the way it makes you mourn the death of romance and adventure. This movie takes the Robin of your childhood and shows you the reality of it all. Just so downright weird, that it's a shock.
To me, this is the best and most historically accurate robin hood film and perhaps also the one with the most feeling. Despite the fact that it depicts robin hood in his later years, to me sean connery pulls off way more charisma than other robin hoods.
Hepburn and Connery have a chemistry that leaves you howling at the films shock of an ending. I could have sworn I was watching a tragedy.
