Review of Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) by Mustafa A — 29 Jan 2008
This movie is a wanna-be female version of Blade. The effort was nice, but it falls miserably short. The plot is quite underdeveloped. Most characters hardly get more than 5 mins of screen time before they're killed.
The story is never really explained at all. What is the history of the vampires? Why is her current state so special? Who are her true allies and enemies? What will the future hold? There's no twist at all.
..not even a little bit. The fight scenes are extremely pathetic. She literally fights an old man as if she's fighting...well, an OLD MAN! The actors really didn't put much effort into it at all.
The ending they left open for a possible sequel, but should they even make one? I think not. Or perhaps if they do, it should just be about her wedding to Blade. Then maybe they can make some kick-ass vampire hunter babies!! Now THAT'S a movie worth watching!! :D.
