Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Griffin V — 17 May 2012
Overlong, boring, and lacking any sense of urgency, danger, or high stakes. Wayne and Dickinson have a nice rapport but the rest of it is sloppy. The violence is glorified and unjustified. A problematic film that Wayne and Hawks acknowledged was a right-wing response to "High Noon".
It's as lame as most right-wing responses to awesome stuff.
