While trying to hold on to the magic of the 1st Rio movie the sequel ended up having too much going on. There were numerous sub plots that distracted from the main focus of the movie, which wasn't too in depth either.
Don't waist your money in the theater, just wait for it on RedBox, OnDemand, or Netflix.
