I think the main reasons why Rio 2 finished at awfulness were because the new cast and the complicated chemistry had. As Ice Age, the second deliver comes with fewer jokes and a forced cast and animation.
Generally it was appalling because it hadn't nothing to show, just 90 minutes of pure boredom and uselessness.
