Rio 2 is your standard, animated kids film. Whether or not that is a good thing depends on the willingness to sit through a well animated film held up by a by the book plot about saving the environment and impressing relatives.
This film will give restless children something to pass the time, but it is the last place to go for anything even remotely different or original.
