Review of Righteous Kill (2008) by Erickruben O — 28 Aug 2009
Great film- I've always been a huge fan of DeNiro and Pacino, and this being their first time together since Heat I have to say that they both came through and did a great job! The leads were great, complex, and intriguing characters and the supporting cast was excellent; Gugino- also a big fan of hers- did great as the detective with a dark side after hours, Wahlberg and Leguizamo were fantastic and at times you really got to hating Leguizamo's character.
I don't say this often, but some rappers can act, and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is no exception- his character, Spider, was small but still amongst the huge talent that shared the screen he filled in nicely.
The story and direction are good, especially the twist, which at first you don't see coming then when it does you ask yourself "how could I miss that?" Overall, one of my favorites!
