Review of Ride with the Devil (1999) by Jack D — 03 May 2010
It surely isn't as great as the other American Civil War films such as "Gone with the Wind" or "Dances with Wolves," but it was surely another remarkable achievement from Lee to see the situation from an outsider's perspective.
Right in the middle grey zone of the war, people fight not for their identifications but for their survivals, and that's how people see the value of their existence more clearly. Maguire's performance was truly compelling, and Jewel can really act!
