Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Juan G — 15 Jan 2012
*SPOILER ALERT*.
This film was horrible. Everything about it was misogynistic. Kate Winslet's plans were considered "unrealistic", she died at the end for no reason other than she performed an abortion after DiCaprio told her not to, and the sex scenes were all about allowing the males in the film to reach orgasm without any consideration for the female. Even the scene with her character dancing and later cheating with the neighbor was more of a dream love sequence for the guy character rather than displayed as a chance escape from her life. The only redeeming quality of this film was Michael Shannon's character. It seems as if the film was saying a male has to been insane in order to appreciate and consider themselves equal to that of a female.
