Review of Rescue Dawn (2007) by Sebastien H — 20 Apr 2009

Average movie, I almost slept here again but this was mainly because I watched it quite late in the night (between 1 and 3 am), anyway the story of this soldier is not a piece of art and bale doesn't get here a great role that he would have deserved to get.

There is a funny notice to do anyway : the captured soldiers are as thin as bale was in the machinist^^, but this doesn't save the movie. Other than that the movie is good as far as the emprisonment condition is enlighted, but we clearly see that it misses something to make this movie a real good one.

There is not even a masterpiece of sequence involving bale or the prisoners or at least the nature. I even found the plane crash very very weird. As a summary this movie is not bad but not as beautiful as the thin red line, not as psychological than full metal jacket and it clearly misses some good action scenes, like the ones we can see in the thin red line or saving private ryan.
