Rescue Dawn: Director Werner Herzog helms this larger than life true story of Dieter Dengler, the only American POW in the Vietnam War to escape the formidable jungles of Southeast Asia. The film has everything a war movie aficionado could want - a compelling story of a real war hero, loaded with gruesome details of life in a sweat-soaked Laotian POW camp, a harrowing escape months later that details what happened, and an impressive performance from Christian Bale as a man with an unyielding will to survive.
