Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Alan Fong D — 25 Aug 2012
Darren Aronofsky's cult classic is an intense eye-opener as it boldly explores the dark seedy world of drug abuse. The graphics are disturbing in nature, the soundtrack is ominous and the performances, particularly the one by Ellen Burstyn, will definitely leave a long lasting impression to fellow audience.
Real, taut and wonderfully creepy, this is the perfect film showing the destructive force of drugs and substance abuse. A beautiful piece that exists to haunt.
