Review of Repulsion (1965) by Jake A — 10 Nov 2012
Slow, dull, boring, overrated. Roman Polanski strikes again. I find it hard to believe the same guy who made dullsville snoozers like this and Chinatown also made the excellent masterpiece The Pianist.
I gave up on this one 45 minutes in, and I shouldn't have waited that long. If I want to watch normal boring people doing normal boring things I'll tune into Big Brother. On the plus side, it's beautifully shot, in the usual Polanski tradition.
If only he would have had better editing...
