Review of Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) by Inderjit S — 14 Aug 2009
Incredibly underrated film, and in many ways it is way ahead of it's time. John Huston gives us a film so moving, and deceptively powerful, that we can barely stand it. Elizabeth Taylor is great, and Brando gives one of the best (and again terribly underrated) performances of his career.
There is a point when he breaks down in the middle of a lecture, almost completely losing it infront of his class. It is one of the greatest moments of his acting career. Powerful stuff here. Powerful powerful stuff.
