Review of Red Eye (2005) by Richardb. — 26 Aug 2005
Just got back from Redeye, and while its not North by Northwest, if you're up for a smart, economical thriller, I cant't think of much else I've seen in the last 10 years (The Fugitive?) that comes close.
Two appealing leads claustrophobically duelling to the death, nice gender reversals, plenty of startling jump out of your skin moments and half a dozen quickly sketched minor characters that all have key roles to play in the unfolding of the plot.
Sure, you'll be able to figure out some of whats going to happen next, but most of the time it'll happen at such a fast clip you'll still be startled. Redeye is a below-the-fancy pants-critical radar-kind of movie-movie you'll enjoy.
Die Hard meets Aliens.
