Review of Red Desert (1964) by Craig B — 27 Jul 2009
As it stands, Michelangelo Antonioni's RED DESERT is my least favorite of his work, but it remains a strong, carefully crafted film none-the-less. Monica Vitti's performance is quite excellent, and although the film's pacing can be a bit of a chore at times, RED DESERT still manages to be quite hypnotic.
I wouldn't recommend this one to those who aren't already fans of Antonioni's previous work.
