Review of Red Desert (1964) by Ben W — 10 Aug 2010
An incredible antonioni film and some of the most beautiful color cinematography ever put to film. its similar thematically and structurally to anotnionis other films: one person dealing with disenchantment with the modern world, believing that their feelings are perhaps physical ailments, maybe connecting or believing that they have connected to another person for a portion of the film, having that tested or ripped apart.
.....and this person usually is monica vitti, as it is in this film. seriously though, you could mute the volume and turn off the subtitles and still get into this film.
