Review of Red Desert (1964) by Reid V — 03 Mar 2012
Antonioni's first colour feature shows Vitti as a mother struggling with various facets of life. One of the best films to utilise colour as a sort of language, as an expression. Antonioni had his crew paint trees through the night for a shot first thing in the morning; when the light from the sunrise wasn't what he wanted he scrapped the shot - badass.
