Surprised me how good this was considering it should be little more than overblown conservative propoganda. But damnit, John Milius will kick you in the fuckin ass to enjoy his work, and it does work, cause unlike, say, the Rambo sequels, here's Regan-era Cold War nonsense with *heart*! It's also a good action movie, which helps.
I really wonder how it will be remade; if it were rerated today it'd be an R, and maybe unmakable due to its whole thing of kids with guns. And, you know, the Cold War is OVER.
