Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Viivi N — 18 Jan 2010
Great film, very poetic and well shot. Great characters and themes. Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang were very well portrayed, like how I remember them from my teenage years. Props goes to the actor who played Zhao Yun, he was the most bad ass character. Really strong performances and get directing. John Woo really returns to form. A must watch, competes with the best of modern American cinema.
Takeshi Kaneshiro's portrayal of Zhuge Liang and Tony Leung's portrayal Zhou Yu are very likable. Great fight choreography and an awesome score along with talented actors and a visionary director make a great film experience.
