Review of Read My Lips (2001) by Jennifer P — 29 Feb 2004
A deaf, lonely woman with a dead-end office job hires a newly released prisoner as her office assistant. With her lip reading skills and his criminal inclinations, the two team up to rob a local crime boss.
The premise is interesting, and the movie is engaging until the very end. It focuses more on the relationship between the two leads than the actual robbery. A lot of time is spent building up their characters.
At the end, it's one of those movies that's well-made, but only moderately entertaining.
