Review of Raw (2017) by Justinpho — 02 Aug 2021
Based on the premise and pictures online, I expected this film to be more graphic and "feral". There were some unexpected twists near the end of the film. No jump scares though. I felt as though it wasn't really a horror film in the sense that it was scary or creepy.
Sure the body horror is a bit unnerving and squeamish to see, but at no point in the movie is it unbearable where you have to look away. Cool movie on cannibalism. I like the soundtrack, which was mostly happy/upbeat for a film of this genre.
I recommend this for those who like a slow-burn and creative horror story, albeit I feel like it never reached it's full potential.
