Review of Raw (2017) by Randy C — 02 Sep 2018
While it may seem too bloody and savage, beneath the surface of Ducournau's debut horror, is a powerful coming of age story .The movie says a lot about being true to yourself in a society where it's becoming more difficult to 'fit in'.
The film takes a modern twist on traditional horror and coming of age films, with Ducournau weaving the two genres together with the unexplored ideas of cannibalism, producing a work of art that would never have come out of Hollywood.
With great all round performances from the cast, acute cinematography and a scintillating score/soundtrack - Raw is nothing short of a masterpiece.
