Review of Rashomon (1950) by Nicholas G — 16 Dec 2015
"Rashomon" is considered to be one of Kurosawa's best movies, and this is a movie that studies human nature, the film examines a brutal rape and murder from four different perspectives. The film's main motivation is not revealing which story is true, but to reveal the greed and deceit that a person is capable of and that it is difficult for one person no matter how inherently good he is to always do the right thing.
But what is the right thing to do? that depends on certain situations as this movie shows us.
