Huge, cool monsters? Check.
Lots of explosions and destruction? Check.
Invincible, badass main character? Check.
Rampage has just about everything you could ask for in a monster movie. The CGI in this film is really well done - the monsters and explosions and everything else looked really good.
There isn't much plot to be had here, but let's be honest - I didn't expect much in that category. The story, while not fantastic, is sufficient.
Dwayne Johnson (Davis Okoye) does an excellent job portraying his favored character archetype - himself. In all seriousness, I love The Rock. He might not win awards for his roles, but I'm never dissatisfied with his acting ability.
The musical score is typical action movie fare, and gets the job done.
Overall, Rampage isn't going to amaze you with philosophical revelations or leave you pondering the complex plot.... but it is a lot of fun to watch.
