Review of Rampage (2018) by Philipblake — 12 Sep 2019
Well, how someone can wake up at the morning and said to himself "hey what's about doing a movie based on the hit vintage arcade video game Rampage" is really beyond me. That's probably the worst idea since The Daughter of Frankenstein.
.. So of course the result looks only like a cheesy summer blockbuster with awful characters added and crapy CGI effects. Dwayne Johnson is playing a very well Dwayne Johnson and Negan euhk sorry I mean Jeffrey Dean Morgan adds nothing to this mess.
The screenplay is how complex as was the screenplay from the game itself and the whole movie is filled with a non-stop excess of bad taste. At least there's two positive things, the original score is surprisingly good and the 3D on the Blu-ray edition is at unexpected level of quality.
I've also liked very much the anti human morality of the film and the rampage sequences was quite funny even though it was too short. Otherwise it's barely less than average on any points.
