Review of Ramona and Beezus (2010) by Sebastian M — 03 Apr 2011
I love Flixster, because from here I can know the 'unknown' movies that sometimes we missed cause of lack of promotion or star power. I bought Ramona and Beezus for my little sister, but we ended up loving the movie. Based on favorite children book, Ramona and Beezus tells the story of two sister and their family. Though the movie focuses more on Ramona, the whole cast take the credit for making it a great family film.
Beezus is a kid with high imaginative mind, the character is so funny and not irritating at all (like some other children movies) and beyond that, she is real - not exaggerated to be 'cute'. Joey King is a good actress maybe she still need to ace that acting skill, but definitely adorable. Selena Gomez is the only Disney actress I can stand, and she is growing up to be a beautiful women. Now, when I said the whole cast, I'm talking about the parents.
The duo John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan who once upon a time played (not together) in Sex and the City series now ended up being Ramona and Beezus parents, and they were excellent. Also in supporting roles are Goodwin and Duhamel as Ramona's aunt who rekindle with her old flame.
In my opinion this movie is underrated and every person from different kind of age would appreciate it.
8/10.
