Talk about pistol whipping Beverly Cleary! It's like they tried to take every single book and mash it into two hours of schmaltz. I thought it would be a cute movie to take my nieces too but by 1/2 way through I wanted to bang my head on the seat in front of so I could pass out and numb the ennui.
Oh, and the girls were bored too.
