Review of Raising Arizona (1987) by Sami A — 31 Mar 2010
An original comedy with good dialogue and directing from the Coen brothers who've made a name for themselves with the movies Fargo and the Big Legowski under their belt as well as this cult classic.
First dark comedy for Nicolas Cage and he does a great job acting as your average white trailer park trash bad guy with a good heart and a sensitive side. Even after seeing this movie several times it's still funny and thoroughly entertaining.
The supporting cast is great from John Goodman to Holly Hunter, they're all perfect in their roles. Would recommend this movie to anyone and everyone that likes to laugh out loud, even if you don't like Cage because of his recent bad streak in movies, you'll like this.
Trust me, I haven't met anyone that didn't genuinely enjoy it, yet.
