Review of Radio Flyer (1992) by Thorne W — 04 Apr 2009
On the outside it really looks like it's a heart-warming kid's movie. Oh look, the cover has a smiling family and an airplane made out of a wagon. But no- this movie depicts some of the most shocking and gut-wrenching scenes of child abuse that I have ever seen, and remains one of the handful of movies that actually made me get misty eyed by the end.
It's a great movie though, and really makes you feel for the characters, rejoicing at their triumphs and lamenting at their failures. I'd recommend this movie to anyone, except for the faint of heart.
