Review of Race (2016) by Mike M — 17 Feb 2016
I cannot recall a screening for any film which evoked the kind of response from the audience 'during' the movie that Race did at the advance screening I attended tonight. While not a perfect film (it had a few minor flaws & was a little too cutesy at times for me) it certainly does a wonderful job of telling the story of a true American Olympic hero.
.., Jesse Owens. It takes the viewer behind the scenes of the decision that America had to make of whether to attend the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. It also takes us behind the scenes of how ugly things were in the USA at that same time.
I highly recommend this film.
