'Race' finishes with a win due to the performances and the first and last, strong 30 minutes. The middle is all over the place, sloppy and dull! Stephan James as Jesse is solid and Jason Sudeikis does very well in his first dramatic role.
The middle of the film is too much white people focused, burying Jesse Owens in the background for chunks of time. There is only so much I can take of old German and American men talking. The ending of this movie is strong and makes this a mild recommendation.
