Review of Race (2016) by Calvin C — 30 Jun 2016
A glossy biopic about Jesse Owens in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The films has strong performances, but the story plays it rather safe. There could have been some very interesting things that the filmmakers could have explored, but they took the safe route. That's fine and all, but one of the greatest athletes in American history deserved better.
Grade: B.
