Cronenberg and David Lynch eat too much sugar... it's simple. Wierd, disturbing and... well... original. Not the storyline just the implementation. No studio would back Cronenberg back then - he had to get funding from the Canadian Film Board (eh?).
Watch it if you interested in the history of film (just don't expect too much). Marilyn Chambers works well displaying a performance not unlike Debi Harry in Videodrome.
