Cronenberg's 2nd movie is a pretty nasty exploration of the directors obsessions most of which would show up in his later, more mature films. Medical procedures gone horribly wrong. Biological horror.
Wounds serving as surogate sex organs. Typical stuff. Good horror flick for those that know what they are getting into.
