Review of Quiet Riot: Well Now You're Here, There's No Way Back (2014) by Gene S — 22 Feb 2015
This is such an excellent movie, for all fans of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal from any era. The director Regina Russell did a great job, one of the best biographies of a rock band that I have ever seen. The movie keeps your attention from beginning to end. If you ever had any questions about the band Quiet Riot you will find the answers in this movie.
The movie starts out at the bands earliest beginnings, before Quiet Riot, when they became Quiet Riot, and where the band is at today. Plenty of vintage video footage and pictures of the band in the early days of the local California rock scene, you will get to hear about and see the late great Randy Rhoads, and the unfortunate passing of the bands vocalist Kevin Dubrow.
After the lead singer passed the band seemed like it went into retirement, but then the bands drummer decides to bring it back to life. Frankie Banali is not just a very talented drummer but he is also very funny, pokes fun at himself, the music industry, and life in general. You can see that he is a nice guy, but he is a professional musician and expects the band to be the same way. You get to watch him bring the band back to life, their ups and downs, and there are some very sad parts in the movie as well as funny. You can see that it is a very real and honest movie.
I have scene this movie 5 times now, and I am already waiting for it to go on DVD so I can buy it, and I bet I watch it 1000 times more. Its one of those movies I will watch several times a year, every year..If you want to see a movie about a legendary rock band that basically was the muscle behind Glam Metal, knocking down all the doors to let all the other bands in so they can be heard, then this is a must have movie. To sum it up the movie is pretty damn cool !
