Review of Queen Christina (1934) by Darryl C — 10 Nov 2007
This, to me, is garbo's most glorious performance in a sound film. partly through personality and partly through artistry, she conveys a contemporary (for 1933) depiction of the sexually ambivalent yet revered swedish queen.
it is doubtful that the real christina sacrificed all for love with a hot spanish guy but if she did, she probably did it garbo's way--full-force and with reckless passion!
