Review of Quatermass and the Pit (1967) by Randy L — 10 Dec 2007

The scariest thing about this movie is that I was born the year before it was released - and everything looks so old fashioned even though it is set in the then modern day! Bummer. This is quite well regarded and a notch above the usual Hammer output, but science-wise it has dated badly and the special effects (especially towards the end) no longer convince if indeed they ever did.

However, there is much to enjoy here and the final shot, over which the end credits roll, is spot on the money.
