Review of Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011) by James M — 08 Feb 2013

Contrary to other opinions, I enjoyed this one just as much as the first despite the introduction being what seemed like fast forward. No more than a few minutes into the film, and we were aboard the plane and witnessing the first person to be infected - the makers certainly don't believe in dragging things out, but why would you with a low budget.

If I hadn't have read it, I probably wouldn't have known this was a minimum cost production as it had all the acting skills, gore, action, and entertainment of the original instalment. I love the extensive use of the cast, which means that there are plenty of characters, lots of differing personalities and great interaction on display.

It's always obvious that the horny young couple and the arrogant self centred male will never survive but for the rest of them, it keeps you guessing. Will the kid, the pregnant lady, and the Parkinson's sufferer all survive? I'd advise you watch and find out because this is quite recommendable.

Of course there is something heavily cheesy about films that take pace on a plane following the likes of Flight of he Living Dead, and Snakes on a Plane, but that's not a bad thing in this instance as it keeps it light hearted and appealing to those less enthralled by mindless violence and gore.

There is a vague link to the first in the sense that those events had supposedly taken place hours before this outbreak, and somehow someone or something had escaped from that apartment and began to spread the zombie like infection onto the aeroplane, but to be honest, you wouldn't have needed to have seen it to understand what was happening here.

It's a decent film in it's own right and I'm now off to see what other cheesy plane films are out there which I'm surely going to enjoy!
